Meet Glenda Benevides

GRAMMY®-Nominated Artist • Award-Winning Author • Global Voice for Empowerment

Glenda Benevides is not your typical music industry success story — she’s the embodiment of what happens when heart and fire meets purpose, and persistence turns into empowerment.

Born in Oakland, CA to a working-class family with no artistic roots, Glenda Benevides was diagnosed early with dyslexia and speech challenges. Rather than seeing it as something wrong, she learned to listen deeper and feel more intensely — fueling a creative force that would one day inspire and transform lives through her lyrics, voice and an unstoppable self-expression.

She was a professional musician by 16. Touring internationally by 21.
And now? A GRAMMY-nominated singer, multi-award-winning independent film contributor (for her song “Change”), and best-selling author of four books including Courage and Find Your Fire and Ignite Action in Your Life.

Glenda has owned her own record label since the early 2000s, long before it was fashionable for artists to take back creative control. She's philanthropic, donating time and funds to One Tree Planted, LGBTQ+ causes, and several social impact organizations.

In 2025, she’s launching a multimedia live performance experience — Soul On Fire which combines original music, soul-stirring storytelling, and wisdom from her bestselling book Courage to help audiences uncover their own purpose, power, and passion. Leaving people with their own Clarity, Courage, Confidence, Commitment and having a powerful Community that they are aligned with.
