Exclusive Interview with FOOD4THOUGH_777
From Middletown, Connecticut, FOOD4THOUGH_777 brings a voice of raw honesty and street wisdom to the music scene. A drummer at heart and a lifelong musician, his path into hip hop was almost inevitable. Growing up in the church, with a father who was both a musician and choir director, music was always woven into his life. That foundation, combined with a love for rhythm and expression, shaped the artist he is today.
Before diving into rap, FOOD4THOUGH_777 credits his father’s influence as a gospel musician for instilling in him a sense of musical discipline. Over time, he transitioned into creating what he now defines as street-conscious music—a style that blends storytelling, awareness, and raw emotion.
When it comes to his creative process, FOOD4THOUGH_777 describes it as a balance of structure and freedom. Sometimes he begins with a title, then builds the beat and lyrics around it. Other times, he lets the beat dictate the mood and crafts the hook and verses to fit. Whether he starts with a drum pattern, a melody, or a lyrical idea, the focus is always on building something authentic that speaks to his listeners.
Looking toward collaborations, FOOD4THOUGH_777 sees himself sharing stages with some of the most respected names in the game. From Roc Marciano to Benny the Butcher, Conway, and Westside Gunn, he admires the energy and grit of BSF and Griselda, and says he’d proudly open for any of them.
His latest release, G.E.B. II, has just dropped, offering a diverse mix of creative, conscious, and street-centered tracks. With up to six different styles blended into the project, it showcases his versatility and depth as an artist. He’s also featured on projects with GEB, and BRC, with an upcoming EP already in the works.
Despite his success, FOOD4THOUGH_777 remains candid about the flaws of the music industry. He criticizes how quickly artists abandon their authentic sound once fame and money come into play, often chasing trends instead of originality. “I wish you could have your own sound, even if you get a big buzz and people begin to like you,” he says.
Currently, FOOD4THOUGH_777 is pushing his music across all major platforms, from Spotify and Apple Music to iHeart and DistroKid. His message to fans is one of authenticity and respect: “Real recognized real all the time. Sometimes you were real, one time you were not real, you was never real at all. Peace.”
