Aceron: The Art of Staying Poised

In an era of overnight fame and artificial hype, some artists build their legacy the old-fashioned way—through experience, authenticity, and relentless dedication. Enter Aceron, a name that resonates across Chicago and is now echoing worldwide. With a story that bridges the early 2000s mixtape grind and the digital streaming boom, Aceron has proved time and again that real artists don't just survive—they evolve, adapt, and thrive.

Following the success of his debut LP Value and his acclaimed Poise series, Aceron is back in his element, recharged and more grounded than ever. His latest project, Poise 2, isn't just another album—it's a spiritual continuation of his life’s journal, a soundscape of resilience shaped by pain, pressure, and perseverance.

We sat down with the man behind the music to dive deep into his evolution—from witnessing Kanye West in the studio to hand-to-hand hustling thousands of CDs across the country. What we found was an artist not only in tune with his craft but deeply connected to his purpose.

“Poise 2”: The Return of Balance and Self-Knowledge

Poise 2 is basically a continuation of Poise 1… same depth, same balance,” Aceron begins. “But this time I was in a different headspace.

This time, he says, the creative process was smoother. More inspired. More intentional.

I feel like I’m in more of a happier place mentally. The records came more easily. I knew exactly what I was going for sound-wise.

That clarity didn’t just come overnight. It came with years of personal transformation—and a name change. Once known as Young Ace, Aceron reflects on how maturity reshaped both his sound and his message.

With age comes maturity. The way I approach music as Aceron is way different than how I did as Young Ace. I’m still witty, still crafty, but now I’m more relatable. More grounded.

Early Gems from Kanye West: Lessons in Confidence

Before Aceron ever dropped a track, fate introduced him to greatness. His cousin was a friend of Kanye West, and as a teen, Aceron found himself inside Kanye’s home studio, watching the legend in the making.

Ye was exactly who he is today. Extremely confident. Back then I thought he was a lil delusional (laughs), but also super talented.

Even when Aceron wasn’t taking music seriously, Kanye saw something in him.

He would critique my verses and always told me to never stop. That’s one of the reasons I’m still here. It’s hard to walk away when someone like Ye tells you to keep going.

Lows, New Beginnings & The Power of Digital Evolution

Like many artists navigating the transition from radio to the internet era, Aceron experienced both highs and valleys. After his singles ran their course on local radio, he hit a slump—questioning if he could keep up in the new age.

But then came YouTube. Social media. A second wind.

Everyone was putting out videos, from big budget to no budget. That gave me life. I started recording again and tapped into new energy.

This phase birthed Value—his debut LP. But it wasn’t just the music—it was the hustle behind it that defined the era. Aceron embraced the hand-to-hand game, pressing up CDs and selling over 10,000 physical units, grossing more than $70,000 independently.

It changed my life. That face-to-face hustle taught me more than the music industry ever did. I learned to engage with fans, manage money, and create actual VALUE behind what I was doing.

Brotherhood with Lil Eazy-E & Lessons in Professionalism

In 2013, Aceron joined Lil Eazy-E on tour—a moment that solidified not just his career but his understanding of professional artistry.

From day one, it was like a brotherhood. We just clicked. We stayed professional even through all the challenges.

That bond led to a timeless collaboration on Poise 2. “Shout out to E! We got a classic on the album. That experience taught me how to move like a pro—no matter what’s going on behind the scenes.

The Value Era: Depression, Healing & Hustle

Behind the buzz of the Value era was a darker personal chapter. Aceron opens up about those years with raw honesty.

Some of the most depressing times of my life. I drank a lot. Wasn’t happy. But I met some real ones during that time.

One of those people was Swaggga (R.I.P), a friend and mentor who introduced him to everything from Black Seed Oil to Amethyst Stones, and most importantly—financial literacy.

He helped me see the bigger picture. How to move music and make real money. That’s when I really began to wake up.

Scream-Fest '07: A Moment That Changed Everything

Touring with stars like T-Pain, Yung Joc, Ciara, Lloyd, and Yung Berg, Aceron had a moment with Lloyd that shifted his entire mindset.

I told him I liked his first album better than the second. He just looked at me and said, ‘The next one.’ That blew my mind.

It’s that attitude that Aceron holds to this day—never resting, always building.

New Energy, New Dreams: What's Next for Aceron?

I’m sooo motivated right now,” he beams. “I feel like I can do 10 more albums.

Beyond music, Aceron is stepping into film. His first movie, titled "Value", is set to release later this year.

It’s only right. That era changed me. I want people to really understand what that journey meant—not just for me, but for every independent artist out there grinding.

For the People: A Message to His Fans

There were so many times I was down, but people would hit me up like, ‘Yo, drop something,’ or ‘Don’t stop.’ Some even told me to keep going for them because they had to quit.

It’s these voices that keep him grounded—and moving forward.

What “Poise” Really Means

Poise means balance. Calm under pressure. No distractions.

Aceron made a vow to stay poised, no matter what storms come his way.

Take the good with the bad. Be unapologetically you. Leave it all out there. This time I’m not leaving no crumbs.

With over 1 million streams, thousands of physical units sold, and a legacy that continues to grow—Aceron isn’t just part of the culture.

He is the culture.
