Willie Moore III, Guitarist & Prodigy Destined For Greatness
Having the ability and talent to play an instrument is a gift that takes passion, work ethic, and relentless practice. Those who play instruments, beginning at a young age, are known to make life-long careers out of it. Willie Moore III fell in love with the electric guitar at the age of seven. The young creative was captivated by the mesmerizing sounds of smooth Jazz and R&B.
The Jacksonville, Florida native took the music industry by storm as he grasped onto his guitar and blessed the stages of several prominent music festivals and events. His audience becomes fully embodied in his enchanting abilities which has set him apart from other guitarists.
Performing at events such as, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, Delta Sigma Theta Peppermint Ball, The Ritz, the BSU Ball at Harvard University, and Orlando Jazz Festival, to name a few, has given Moore the opportunity to build a network consisting of major names in the industry such as, Mike Stern (16x Grammy Nominated) and Nick Colionne (mentor and long time friend).
Willie Moore also gives back to the community by conducting clinics that provide musical education and enlightenment to under-privileged youth. It is a breathe of fresh air to witness someone of Willie’s stature provide a platform for those in need. He uses his gift to assist others which is another key component to his success.
Being awarded “Contemporary Instrumental Winner” at the 2013 NAACP ACT-SO was certainly a life changing achievement. An award of this magnitude just reveals to the reader and audience that the young guitarist is destined for great things! Also being featured in the March/April 2015 issue of “Jacksonville Arts & Business Magazine” certainly allowed Moore to obtain further visibility in the press.
