Q. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? AND
INTRODUCE YOURSELF.
My name is RapStarr a.k.a. Hurricane Cam and I am from Pittsburgh, PA.
Q. WHAT MADE YOU THINK YOU SHOULD PURSUE MUSIC AS A CAREER?
I think it was just me watching my favorite Hip Hop artists. Since I was a preteen, Eminem has been my favorite artist. I remember watching D-12,s Blue and Yellow, Purple Pills and I loved the music video. Then when 50 Cent got signed to Eminem’s record label Shady Records; I was automatically a fan. Eminem is the reason why I started rapping and 50 Cent/G-Unit is the reason why I got serious. And plus my father has got me interested in rap by
playing old school Hip Hop as a kid even up till now.
Q. IS IT DIFFERENT TO BE A RAPPER?
No. Its not, if its in you its in you. Just like anything else.
Q. TELL US ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING PROJECT.
I am currently working on my first EP entitled 90s Baby. Its a representation and a reflection of the era that I was born and raised in. I just released my brand new single called "Power To My People" on February 7th of this year. (On my birthday) Its available on all music media outlets.
Pandora, Spotify, Itunes, YouTube, Alexa, and many more.
This record was produced by David Metropolis and mixed by Brasco Waves Studio. The track
is amazing. I wrote every word by the way. "Power To My People" is a powerful record. Its uplifts and empowers the soul of the Black and Brown community. Revolutionary Rap. Something like Tupac Shakur in 1992.
Q. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST
ACCOMPLISHMENT AS A RAPPER?
I don’t think I can answer that yet. I have done a lot but have yet to reach my peak. I can say
that as an artist that I do own my own publishing. I can’t say that for some mainstream
artists.
Q. DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND. WHAT AUDIENCE DO YOU HOPE TO REACH?
My sound is 90s and early 2000s East Coast rap. I also do Reggaeton and I have worked with Latin artists as well. Artists like KingP Da Hustla and Original FireMexican. KingP Da Hustla and I got three songs out so far. "Hanguiando" "Latin Luv" and "O.G.s".
You can find it on YouTube and Spotify. I want to do blends like Hip Hop and Salsa or Hip Hop and Latin Soul. I want my audience to receive positive vibes and self respect. Every song I write has a message.
A positive message. The kind of audience I would like to reach to are the ones who love Hip Hop and the ones who like to be enlightened. Revolutionary minded.
Q. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?
I want to own my own record company. I want to change the world with my music. I want to be labeled as one of the best that ever did it. I want to teach history and ancestry. I want to give
hope to the people.
