Black L'Lak: From Milwaukee Streets to Music Mastery

James Peacock, known to peers as Black L'Lak was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Growing up, Black was raised in two homes. One of his father and the other of his mother. Black will be quoted for saying, "Being with my father, I learned how to be a man.

Being with my mother (Who resided in the infamous Westlawn Projects) I had to prove I was the man." Although, he went back and forth from one house to the other, both areas gave him something that he is definitely passionate about... Music! At an early age, Black fell in love with music.

Influenced by what his father played (Nat King Cole, Marvin Gaye, The Commodores, etc.) and by what he heard throughout Westlawn Projects (E40, Bone Thugs -n- Harmony, Slick Rick, etc.) Black knew what he wanted to do.

Unfortunately, like many others, the streets became more addictive. Even though he was still writing music, hustling was more favorable. Throughout it all, encounters with death and prison, made him realize he lost his path and it spawned his rebirth. Black went back to work with his music, doing countless freestyles and battles.

During this time, he did a lot of music with independent labels, such as, World Records and Tri Entertainment. He also, reconnected with old friend Quise Picasso. Years later, he eventually joined Picasso's label, Executive Board Music Group. On March 29th, 2023, Black released his debut EP, "Crowd Control" under the Executive Board Music Group imprint.

The response to his project was incredible. Black is now recording new material and is about to start touring soon. His future is definitely, promising.
