Shakeel Wasean Ivery, better known as my stage name Polo Shak and I am a
American rapper, songwriter, and activist who was born
Astoria Queens, New York and was also raised there.

Q. WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT YOU SHOULD PURSUE MUSIC AS A CAREER?
Music is all I know I’ve been doing music since I can
remember. I had to be at least age 6 or 7, but been fumbling around with words since like 3 years of age.
Q. IS IT DIFFICULT TO BE A RAPPER?
Is it different, yes extremely difficult. You have people constantly in your ear
praying for you to not succeed and swearing they know almost everything about you and what you go through on your own daily. You must stay focused.

UPCOMING PROJECT.
My upcoming projects are soon to be announced. I do have a debut album called “Untitled” which releases in January 2022.
Q. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST
ACCOMPLISHMENT AS A RAPPER?
I’ve been connecting with quite a few big names as far as entertainers, celebrities and entrepreneurs in this business. I just recently was at the 50th Anniversary BET Soul Train Awards last week on Nov. 20th for the Pre Live Show at the Apollo Theater for the first time in history.
Q. DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND?
WHAT AUDIENCE DO YOU HOPE TO REACH?
My sound is Melodic. I’m a soul, hip hop artist. Very versatile when it comes to my sound I’m a Chameleon lol I can adapt and blend in with all genres.
Q. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?
To achieve many awards, plaques, sale a bunch of vinyl records and to have my own record label, under a major label. A partnership will be nice.
Q. WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM A LOT OF ARTISTS?
2 words and 4 Syllables! Consistency and Dedication.

OR TO THE WORLD?
Keep striving for greatness, don’t matter what field you are currently in. If you want it, go and get it. When you reach the top of the mountains, don’t be afraid to look down, It’s just to see how far you came. Keep God first and stay humble.
