The UMC's: Staten Island's Forgotten Sons (Documentary)
When it comes to Hip Hop, legendary group The UMC's are famed for putting Staten Island on the map. Their new documentary highlights their emergence into the scene, their impact, and influence, as well as exclusive past and present footage. Haas G and Kool Kim linked with Boo and Sarah Hartman Evans and Dream Different Media for their upcoming documentary "The UMC's: Staten Island's Forgotten Sons."
The trailer sets the tone by highlighting the duo as the first rap group to come out of Staten Island, the first rap group out of Staten Island to appear and perform on Soul Train, and the first rap group out of Staten Island to chart on Billboard with two No. 1 hits. The trailer also captures Kanye West and will.i.am who reference the group as a monumental influence on past and present Hip Hop, and of course the culture.
